Lindsay Lohan Dismisses Dating Rumours

Lindsay Lohan has laughed off reports she has a new man in her life - insisting she's just "friends" with her latest rumoured love interest.

The Mean Girls star, who split from her DJ girlfriend Samantha Ronson earlier this year (09), has fought off a string of dating rumours in recent weeks after she was linked to Jason Segel, Entourage star Kevin Connolly, and Gerard Butler.

I'm not dating my friend, people are nutso (sic), and it's not a way to start off the new year with rumours.

She was most recently rumoured to be involved with model Adam Senn, but Lohan is adamant she's still single.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "I’m not dating my friend, people are nutso (sic), and it's not a way to start off the new year with rumours."

Robert Plant's Womanly Celebration

Robert Plant wants to spend New Year's Eve (31.12.09) in the arms of a woman.

The 61-year-old rocker - who has famously lived a life of sex, drugs and rock n roll excess - admitted he will be looking for love over the holiday season.

He said: "Where would I like to welcome in the New Year? In some warm, tantalising arms."

Although he is looking forward to celebrating New Year's Eve, the former Led Zeppelin singer isn't looking forward to the next decade because all it holds for him is "more attention to bladder control".

He added: "I don't think I've aged gracefully. When you can feel the breeze of the Grim Reaper, there's nothing graceful about that fear, because I'm only a third of the way through the adventures I want to have."

He explained: "I park my car by touch, using the wheels as a guide to when I've hit the kerb."

Mahesh and Lara recently spotted dancing cosily

It looks like a doubles pair off-court. Tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi and model Lara Datta were not kissing under the mistletoe but well, who knows? The coosome twosome were spotted on Christmas night, dancing at the Taj Land's End hotel in Bandra at an event organised by management company Fountainhead.

Lara, was dressed in a green gown, while Bhupathi wore a suit. Things were pretty steamy, with some waltzing and close dancing between Ms Lara and Hesh (as Bhupathi is called). Apparently, the couple seemed to be alone and not with a group of friends.

A lady, who was at the same dance, laughed as she said, "They were together, they looked like they are in love, they should stop denying it." Now this should add more smoke to the fire. The gossip grapevine has been buzzing with rumours about Lara Dutta (ex-boyfriends: Dino Morea and Kelly Dorje) and Mahesh Bhupathi (formerly married to Chennai model Shweta Jayashankar) dating for a while now. Yet, the pair has denied it.
It reminds one of the time when his doubles partner Leander Paes (not exactly buddies now) and Rhea Pillai repeatedly denied any relationship.

Not just tweetin'
The globetrotting Bhupathi was in Mumbai recently. One had spotted him at the Qi gym at Churchgate working out with other players as part of the preparation camp for the upcoming tennis season beginning with the Australian Open in January next year. Fountainhead did not respond to requests to comment on Lara and Bhupathi at the Christmas dance. Lara too did not respond to a telephone call and SMS for a response. Sources say that Twitter buddies Bhupathi and Lara have taken their relationship to a different level. Well, cho (s)tweet.

Bipasha gets rehearsing on New Years Eve

Bipasha Basu was caught practising for her act tonight at Seduction 2010 at the Sahara Star on New Year's Eve. The dance has been choreographed by Sanjay Shetty while her costumes have been designed by Rocky S.
Beau John Abraham will be attending the event with his family to watch his girlfriend groove. Along with Bipasha, Sudesh Bhosle, Anjana Sukhani, and Indipop duo Preety-Pinky will be also performing while Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh will be anchoring the show.

The Interview: You are Number Six

Jen took up the gauntlet of being "interviewed" by, and then "interviewing" me.

1. What do you like most about libraries?

Seems kind of obvious, but: All the books.

A writer used to say, "Beware he who writes more than he reads." Which means, put metaphorically, if you want to hear the music, you've got to listen.

I also have relatively little formal education but am heavily self-educated in this way. Actually, the same man who said that* about writers used to say he was "A self-made man--which demonstrates the horrors of unskilled labor."

*It was Harlan Ellison, if you want to know.

And I just like that if I have some enthusiasm I want to pursue--which happens, like, once a day--there's almost always at least one book I can get at the library with information about it.

2. If you could meet any fictional character (not created by you), who would it be, and why?

Someone from The West Wing. As for who, I'd have to flip a coin between Sam or Toby.

Sam, because he says things like this:

"...education is the silver bullet. Education is everything. We don't need little changes, we need gigantic changes. Schools should be palaces; the competition for the best teachers should be fierce, they should be making six figure salaries. 3. What was your favourite board game when you were a kid?

I want to play a game...

...oh right, sorry, board game, when I was a kid...I don’t know.

When I was a real little kid, Candyland and Chutes & Ladders.
A little later I have fond memories of the Rescuers movie game.

I liked Monopoly like everyone else (for the record, my piece of choice was the car). Also a game called-

-that had cool shark fin pieces.

By the time I was like 11 I was hanging out in arcades (ah, Tron) more than I was playing board games at home.

4. Your favourite nickname for you?

To coin a phrase:

I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.

(In other words: It's something an ex-girlfriend used to call me; I also had something I called her. I've never said what it was to anyone, I don't know if she has)

5. Which is better: to have loved and lost, or never to have loved at all?

Well, let me put it like this:

Rihanna asked to dress conservatively for New Year bash

Singer Rihanna is upset as she won't be able to do her usual raunchy stage show in Abu Dhabi on New Year's Eve because the organisers have told her to dress "conservatively".

"Rihanna is tearing her hair out over what to do. She wanted to put on her most eccentric and provocative show here. A huge part of her show is her sexy stage gear.

"But the dress code in Abu Dhabi does not encourage excessively revealing outfits," contactmusic.com quoted a source as saying.

Now Rihanna, 21, and her team are busy devising a new show complete with modest outfits which don't show off too much of her body and won't offend audiences in conservative Abu Dhabi.
