All women want to look fabulous on the beaches this summer. Even if your not jetting of for a beach holiday there is bound to be a swimming pool at the hotel. The secret to looking good in swimwear is not about choosing the latest 'must have' fashionable bikini or swimsuit. It is about choosing the right swimwear to maximise your good points and minimise your bad points. Yes everyone has bad points even supermodels!
We've split body shapes into six categories to give you our recommendations for each body shape...
If you have a small bust
If you are small on top then definately look for bikinis that are underwired and for a little extra help look for padded bikinis. Bandeau bikinis really suit you and only you can really wear small triangle bikinis that cause a sensation on the beach..
If you have a big bust
If you are large on top then you need to ensure your breasts are adequately supported and halterneck bikini tops are the perfect answer. If possible look for styles that are banded around base and tie up at the top for some lift and get a perfect fit. To draw attention away from your large chest look for detailing on your lower half or combine with a small beach skirt, sarong or wrap.
If you have small hips
Look for bikini briefs that have a high cut leg or opt for a hipster styled brief to create a curvier silhouette. Some nice detailing on the brief, such as a contrasting belt will work wonders for your figure. Choose bright colours and avoid solid block colours, especially black as this will have a slimming effect and make you look even more boyish.
If you have large hips
If you have large hips then the secret is to draw the eye towards other areas of the body. One of the best techniques is to have a contrasting top. For ultimate effect choose a plain dark bikini bottom with a bright and vibrant bikini top. Or look for a swimsuit that has the detailing around the bust rather than the waist
If you have a long body
Hipsters work best for your hips as high cut briefs can make your long legs look even longer. And ruffled skirts and sarongs are made just for you! Go for low neck lines rather than high ones as these will lengthen your body even more.
If you have a large tummy
Then a control one piece swimsuit or control tankini is your best option. These have a much nigher spandex content than normal swimwear which will hold your tummy in on the beach. The aim here is to draw the eyes away from your middle so go for subtle detailing on both the top and the bottom of the swimsuit leaving the centre as plain as possible.
