Imagine...

...you've got a really important business meeting that you're totally unprepared for. There's good reasons for your lack of preparations, mostly involving vodka, but you are petrified that you're going to crash and burn in the boardroom. The solution? Wear an outfit that is hypnotic. This creation from Basso&Brooke will draw the attention away from whatever rubbish you're spouting and leave your fellow suits mesmerised by your fabulous taste in clothing, and ability to match (shoes and jacket, very classy, very businesslike).

...your super-hot male friend asks you to help him to move house. You need to look alluring but also be able to move about - he has a load of junk that needs boxing up and moving out. Peter Pilotto has the solution, shorts and a shirt is a simple combination but will make you look cool and show that you really are there to help. Plus short-shorts show off your legs, although pumps might be better than these heels when you're helping to lug a piano up four flights of stairs.

...you've been invited to a "bad taste party" at uni. You don't actually want to look totally hideous because, well you would be completely ashamed. This is what Henry Holland is for. You'd have to be brave to wear this outfit on a normal night out, but under the guise of "bad taste" you can show off this wonderful ensemble.

...you've been asked out by a cowboy. In the 90s. I am so in love with this from Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve that I'm currently developing a time machine to ensure I do find myself in that situation.

...it's your first lecture at uni, you want to look cute and clever. I would suggest that you remember to dry your hair though, you don't want to catch a chill. I love how this outfit is demure and scholarly without being drab. And the socks/legwarmers match the coat - cute as!

...you just want to look super hot! Burberry Prorsum is all you need.

A hat fit for Icarus

When I'm looking to buy a hat top of my list of requirements is that by wearing it I could potentially blind someone close by. Luckily for me, Maria Francesca Pepe has designed a piece of headwear perfect for that very cause.

Although I am perplexed about the wearability factor of that particular piece, the rest of Pepe's collection is simple yet effective. I like clean lines, I like block colours and I like clothing with shape. This collection has all three. Inspiration is supposed to have come from 19th century French prostitutes, but I'm sure there must have been more ruffles involved back then. The seductive fabrics are due to Pepe's Italian roots, which is lucky really since the velvets and silks stop the cuts from being overly harsh.

I'm not so sure about the lilac lipstick - it's a bit Peaches Geldof for my liking - but the combination of the simple dress and geometric brooch makes for an interesting outfit. Effortlessly cool rather than being too showy.

This season is all about the shoulder, dahling. There's still a part of me that screams "Dynasty" everytime I see a shoulder pad, but as I personally am lacking in the shoulder-department I do feel myself drawn to the sillouette - just so long as big hair and dream sequences aren't coming back too!

Check Out Anna Dello Russo's Crazy Fashion Week 'Fits

Imagine packing for Fashion Week in Milan and Paris. What would you stick in your suitcase? Lots of black, skinny jeans, killer heels, and some statement jewellery? Or how about a cherry hat, fur, and couture outfits that don't look like they even fit in a suitcase? So fascinated are we by the peerless Vogue Nippon editor Anna Dello Russo that we started tracking her outfits. She takes more fashion risks in one week than we will in our entire lifetime, which is why we love her.

Israeli designer made shoes, imitating the female body

The famous Israeli designer Kobi Levy has a very different point of view when it comes to shoes, he is fully convinced that they can take any form as long as it can be worn.

From female bodies to market baskets, dogs or bananas, the shoes designed by the eccentric designer priced on 500 pounds, are real jewelry that you would fear to wear.

The designer has contracts worldwide and is currently working on footwear collection for men, because he is very curious how would he feel in shoes created by him.

Eat what you wear with fashion student’s edible clothes

Most fashion students keep their finished design pieces in a wardrobe, but 22-year old Emily Crane has to use a freezer.

Kingston University fashion student created Haute Edible Couture fashion series – new strain of edible “clothing”. The young designer lives by the expression “you are what you eat” and creates intricate designs, all of which are edible. Emily Crane uses gelatin, seaweed and food dyes to form her beautiful garments and accessories.

Crane’s work will be displayed September 17th at London Fashion Week’sVauxhall Fashion Scout in Covent Garden, but even the designer herself can’t be certain of what she’ll be showing.

“I never know exactly what something is going to turn out like in advance because the processes are still very experimental,” she says.

Check out the photos of her garments and watch video of Emily at work here.

Save Your Shoes, Wreck Your Style With Odd Looking Heel Protector

Heels Above

Im not into gimmicks-- but this is awesome

Here is a product that in some strange way does make sense.

I'm not sure if this thing resembles the nipple on a baby bottle, a golf tee, or ananalytical funnel but a plastic whositwhat that looks like it should be autoclaved does NOT make for a fashion accessory!

We bring you Heels Above...

"Discreet, recyclable plastic feet molded to easily slip over your shoe's heel," the discreet part is what's giving us the giggle.

From the Heels Above web site...

It's press release continues to say it better than our words can express, "Thismind numbinglysimple concept was born of necessity after inventor Nicole Grossman took ONE too many steps off-road in her Manolos. Mother-daughter duo Nicole & Susie have joined forces to create the ONE accessory that every woman has wished for since the dawn of the high heeled shoe."

What is "mind numbing" is that the glaringly obvious plastic contraption with the flying saucer base is photographed on a shoe with a red sole. In our collective opinion and random survey, we can say that no stylish woman willing to shell out mega bucks on a pair of Loubs would be caught dead adorning them with a device that looks like it's part of Jiffy Lube change.

BTW: There are other high heel protectors out there which are less obtrusive. There were even ones back in the 1960's to save your spikes from the evils of an escalator. Sweeties, can you TRY to design one that a stylish woman would want to wear if she felt the need?

Helpful Hints:
Wedge shoes or a thicker heel will not sink into the ground at an outdoor affair.
Look before you walk on pavement to avoid getting stuck in sidewalk cracks.

Sold at heelsabove.com, of course!

Horrigic Fashion Mistakes

The Tent Dress
For a a few hundred years, dresses were designed to flatter the body until someone decided to screw it all up with something called a “Tent Dress.” This dress only works if you’re a cute three-year-old toddler—or Angelina Jolie.

Scarry Furry boots

I mean do I actually need to say anything about these?
These were actually on the catwalk at some point!
They do absolutely nothing for you, you look like something out of Monster Munch I surely even if they were nice just get ruined when you wear them. I guess the only positive I can think of right now is that they keep your feet warm but then what were slippers or Uggs invented for

Inappropriate Clothes

This woman is normal weight, but her tight jeans are creating a major “muffin top”. The guy doesn’t look too hot either, with his cropped pants and socks.

Common Fashion Mistakes

1. Your clothes don't fit correctly.

Wearing loose clothes will add weight to anyone. Clothes that are too small accentuate bulges and will make you look comical. Never buy anything thinking that it will be "just right" if you lose weight. Buy for the present and in relation to your clothes size today.

2. Fashion trends that don't suit you.

Don't try to follow trends that don't suit you. Don't forget about your age and figure and only wear what looks good on you. There is nothing worse than seeing someone follow fashion for the sake of it. Face reality, if short skirts are in and you haven't got the legs for it then don't do it!There are plenty of fashionable looks out there and all you need to do is to find the ones that are best for you

3. Showing bra & panty lines.

Wear proper fitting underclothes under your clothing. If they do fit you correctly and you can still see lines, then your clothing is too tight. Keep your bra straps properly adjusted so they're not hanging out. If your jeans and trousers are low-rise, your panties should be too. I know some times it cant be helped but showing your thong just looks cheap

4. Wearing skirts that are to short.

Avoid this mistake at any cost! Make sure you can sit, walk and dance without exposing underclothes.

5. Wearing wrinkled clothes.

I know it can be a very dull job but trust me the results are worth it. Creased clothes look cheap and will devalue any outfit - no matter how much it cost!

Crocs ‘Dead and They Don’t Know It’

Crocs ‘Dead and They Don’t Know It’

Photo: Getty Images

Good news! Crocs might disappear as soon as September. The shoemaker has until the end of September to pay off its debt. Last year the company lost $185.1 million. They cut about 2,000 jobs, but still owe creditors millions. The Washington Post reports:

"The company's toast," said Damon Vickers, who manages an investment fund at Nine Points Capital Partners in Seattle. "They're zombie-ish. They're dead and they don't know it."

After, against all logic, the company managed to sell 100 million pairs of shoes over seven years, they made millions more shoes to meet demand. They even made charms with which to adorn them. Luckily the universe has no room for this sort of hideousness, and as fate would have it, the economy crashed. Crocs customers realized their money is best spent on anything other than that absurdly ugly footwear.

Two summers ago, Nancy Fisher of the District bought two pairs of Crocs, one green and one pink, for her daughters. The girls, now 8 and 12, wore them constantly and even got charms to decorate the tops. This year, the shoes are forgotten.

"They were their go-to," Fisher said, "and now they're just really interested in flip-flops."

Praise! But the company is in denial about their imminent demise. They recently hired a new CEO to lead the seemingly pointless exercise of trying to keep Crocs afloat. He's telling analysts George Clooney has promised to work with the company. We thought George had decent taste, but it makes perfect sense: Someone as rich as he is hasn't felt the economic force that knocked the beer goggles off so many other Crocs customers.

Just Because It’s Hot Out Doesn’t Mean You Have to Wear See-through Clothes

Just Because It’s Hot Out Doesn’t Mean You Have to Wear See-through Clothes

Not only are nipples fashion's hottest new accessory, but lately, an increasing number of images are surfacing of lady celebrities doing things out-of-doors in shirts that are completely see-through. Above you see Lily Allen onstage on July 11 in what is probably lingerie; Lindsay Lohan walking around outside in what appears to be a piece of gauze, which reveals she's wearing an unlined lace bra; and Rihanna in the West Village last week wearing a sheer black top over what looks like a striped bathing-suit top. Rihanna recently took things a step further when she sported only sequined nipple pasties under a blazer on the fourth of July. Compared to that, the above look may as well be a nun's habit. But that doesn't make it less concerning.

We've yet to notice — and please do note in the comments if you've seen something different — a surge of see-through clothes on the streets. But if pantslessness is catching on in nightclubs (we've seen girls wearing as bottoms lamé booty biker shorts and slashed leggings — both equally offensive) it's only a matter of time before essential shirtlessness catches on, too. Perhaps the proliferation of see-through clothing is owed to the rising summer temperatures. But when not properly layered with things other than lingerie (or nothing in Lily Allen's case), these garments just look desperate and vulgar. Is an opaque top in 84-degree weather really so bothersome? No. No, it is not.

Five Words Or Less: Lady Gaga's Latest Stage Look Has The Power To ______.

There's pretty much nothing fashion frontierswoman Lady Gaga could do to surprise us in the realm of the sartorial arts, right? She's pioneered the pantsless look currently sweeping the celebrity style nation, created hair accessories from actual hair, and considers electrical tape underwear. How much more insane could things really get, you ask?

0622-lady-gaga-much-music-awards_fa.jpg

I present to you Exhibit 2,677,543. Lady Gaga's outfit is quite literallyon fire. She performed at the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto last night, and when she took to the stage to do "Poker Face" (for which she nabbed the Best International Video Artist award), her black studded bustier exploded in a feat of pyrotechnics.

This fall, Lady Gaga will go on tour with fashion's other envelope-pusher-of-the-moment, Kanye West. He's admitted he won't even try to compete with her in the wardrobe department, and after seeing her stage getup this weekend, I don't blame him for chickening out. The woman has fireworks for nipples!

So let's hear what you have to say about her smoking hot ensemble (sorry! I couldn't resist). In five words or less....

Lady Gaga's latest stage look has the power to __________.

Peak-a-boo!!!!!

Want To Wear That See Thru Summer Top? Learn How To Wear White With Bristol

white_eblast

Ok so you have some really great outfits. And summer is here, and more than anything you really want to wear them! But there is only one problem…

They are mostly see-thru! So to avoid those embarrassing ‘peek a boo’ moments, try to conceal them. Yes this may sound tricky, but all the stars are doing it! And so can you. Bristol 6 has a great selection of pasties to use that cover up your most ‘delicate’ parts. Aptly named ‘Nippies‘, go for a really natural look and dare to wear your favorite white tee. Try their Nippies Natural, an ultra thin matt silicone that blends seamlessly into skin. This offers great coverage under tees, tanks, and dresses.

Or if you intend on going swimming a lot this summer. They also offer waterproof Nippies to wear under your swimsuit or bikini top. Though if you wanted to be sexy, you could just wear them alone…

Or for the blushing bride, they have their exclusive and sparkling Nippies, which easily functions under any wedding gown for the ultimate coverage.

Bikini Jeans - Wear It If You-Dare

When a client of a Japanese clothing company, Sanna’s wished for jeans that sat lower than her hips but will be snug enough not to require constant pulling up, Designer Sandra Tanimura let her creative juices flow and came up with low risers held up by bikini strings-voila! Bikini jeans were born!

The style has become quite a hit in Japan and is all set to take off in Europe. Will United States be next?

While the cut might flatter a stick thin figure, won’t a simple belt be a more flattering and reasonable solution for normal women, some wonder? Then of course there is the case of not wearing under wear. How many of us will be comfortable with that?
