Cape Town - Laugh Out Loud while KFC gets Streetwise with the Crazy Entertainers
The “streetwise” Crazy Entertainers have been tickling the radio waves with their slap-your-knee funny jokes since KFC signed them up as part of their KFC Streetwise campaign, in order to jolt some laughter and bring finger-licking joy to those chicken-hungry fans.
“When our company heard of the Crazy Entertainers, it just made sense to bring them on board. Our company is passionate about tasty, quality chicken and these guys are really passionate about cracking people up. The synergy between the two was just unmissable,” cackles Lisa Burman, Marketing Manager for KFC.
The Crazy Entertainers, featuring Patrick Khoba, Thato Maphanga, Phillip Hlatshwayo, Golden Maluleke, Bongo Molele and Tumelo Matera, say they were born to make you roll on the floor and laugh out loud.
They met when they were students at a school in Tshwane while poking fun at other learners. Since realizing their affinity for jokes, they got streetwise and started performing various skits on Paul Kruger Square in Tshwane where they attracted large audiences and before they knew it, Crazy Entertainers was formed.
And now, the Crazy Entertainers are the faces of the KFC Streetwise campaign during 2010 and 2011.
Flapping his feathers on behalf of the group, Thato Maphanga has this to say, “Performing our comedy routines and making movies is our true goal. The sponsorship will give us the power to reach and entertain even more people.”
Now, the Crazy Entertainers, being the entrepreneurs that they’ve become, boast a brand new DVD titled, “Shoo be doo”, which is sure to cause fits of laughter around the country.

The new version of Chicisimo is finally here!
Chicisimo has always been a great site but here are a few new addations that they have just launched
WHAT’S NEW?
1.- Everybody can join Chicisimo.
2.- You can now follow your favorite fashionistas and don’t miss any look from the girls whose style you most like!
3.- Connect with your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and your friends will find you more easily!
4.- New profile page. Go to your profile page, you’ll see it has changed:) What do you think?
5.- When you vote for a look, we keep it for you in the section “Looks I Like” on your profile.
6.- Popular looks on the front page, recent looks on the sidebar of the front page. This has probably been the most difficult decision. We’ve asked for your opinion about this and the responses have been equally supportive of one or the other way (popular vs. all looks on the front page). What we have done is, most popular looks go to the front page, but all recent looks go also to the front page, to the right side. I hope everyone is happy with this decision, it has certainly been difficult.
7.- Report users for abuse and flag looks as inappropriate. Opening up to everyone has some risks, please help us keep the site clean and attached to the rules. Having everyone register only through Facebook or Twitter will also help prevent abuse, we believe!
WHAT’S NEXT?
We should improve the way we show the images and organize better the information around the looks. We should provide more tools to discover cool brands and great looks. You’ve been giving us tons of ideas on how to improve the site, please keep them coming.
CHICISIMO IS A STREAM OF INSPIRATION FOR FASHION LOVERS. JOIN TODAY

Foreigners Are Ravenous for Abercrombie
- 6/4/10 at 1:50 PM
- 6Comments
Figures issued Thursday showed May's domestic sales rose just 1%, while international revenue jumped 84%. With the overseas business generating nearly a fifth of revenue, total company sales rose a healthy 10%.
But can the foreigners save Abercrombie, if not from further domestic shame, from more fiscal bloodletting? Can Abercrombie just jump ship and flee to Europe and Asia like they're on the lam? Probably not, at least not immediately. The European markets won't be enough to offset losses still occurring here, especially because Abercrombie holds $1.1 billion in leases that don't expire until 2015 or later — those would be quite expensive to exit. So the U.S. and Abercrombie are stuck with each other for at least another half-decade. TheJournal reckons:
Holding onto Abercrombie shares in the hope U.S. sales will eventually revive would be brave. With rare exceptions, such as Victoria's Secret and Gap, most specialty retailers from 20 years ago have given way to new rivals. At 21 times this year's earnings, Abercrombie shares are ready to fade.
You know what they say: If you really want to get to know someone, divorce them! Who knew Abercrombie would end up the hot wife skipping into the sun with the sexy accented people? Now American shareholders will know Abercrombie on levels they never wanted to. But maybe that will make room for some lust in their portfolios.

Selfridges launches online store
Selfridges has finally embraced the internet and launched its first online store. The company, which celebrated its centenary last year, has run a website for many years, but not until this week could shoppers make purchases online. Despite the success of high profile online retailers, like Net-a-Porter or even contemporaries Harvey Nichols and Harrods, Selfridges was the last to enter the online market. Many high street retailers have been slow to embrace the internet and according to the Office for National Statistics just 3.9 per cent of retail sales took place online last year. Selfridges online offer is relatively modest stocking just 10,000 items, compared with the more than 100,000 that are available in its physical shops. However, the company is confident that its website is better than rivals' sites. A spokesman said: "The site is head and shoulders above what our competitor department stores currently offer in terms of interaction, product selection and services. So, this is a net gain for customers everywhere in the UK, especially those who were not able to shop easily from Selfridges in the past." The company has just four department stores, one in London, one in Birmingham and two in Manchester, but it promises that it will – for a price – deliver to anywhere in Britain. Using couriers, it will charge between £4.95 for standard delivery and £15 for same day delivery within London. Amy Shields, news editor at the fashion industry magazine Drapers, said: "They were very slow to market, but it's difficult to get a fashion website right. If you are selling designer clothes people usually want to see and feel them, but I think Selfridges has done a good job. The website captures some of the fun and theatre that the Selfridges stores have." Though it is stocking a relatively small number of items, they do give a taste of the full range on offer in the stores, with the cheapest item a £4.95 giant Hershey chocolate bar, and the most expensive a £7,560 silver bracelet by designer Vincente Gracia, featuring fairy tale animals heads in gold, silver and copper. Sex And The City 2
Filming for the Sex And The City 2 film has seen our four favourite Manhattanites back on the streets of the Big Apple giving die-hard fans and keen style-watchers plenty of fresh fashion action.
Patricia Field is back on board, making sure that the clothes play almost as big a role as Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. Sarah Jessica Parker has been seen in pieces from the new Halston Heritage collection, Chanel (of course), Manolo Blahnik shoes (naturally), some über-glamorous shades from MYKITA - and we hear a chunk of Holly Fulton's new collection has been requested for the film.
So far we've seen hilariously-costumed Eighties flashbacks, a Moroccan location shoot and - something we thought we'd never see - Kim Cattrall as Samantha in a wedding dress. And, with news this week that SJP - along with Anna Wintour - is to be appointed toBarack Obama's arts and humanities committee, there's never been more reason to keep a close eye on what she's wearing on - and off - set.
Here, we spotlight what's happening, style-wise, on the Sex And The City 2 set.
