Bikini Line Hair Removal - Vital For Swimmers and Sunbathers Alike

Women have been trying to find the best way to remove unwanted bikini area hair for what seems like forever. As bikini line hair removal has become such an important part of every woman's life, it is important to be aware of all the different methods available today.

One method for bikini area hair removal is to undergo regular wax treatments at a local salon. Keep in mind that for this method to be appropriate for you, you must be very comfortable with your body and with the practitioner performing the procedure.

In addition, you must be aware that any waxing procedure, especially one done on such a sensitive area of one's body, is going to cause pain, which can not only be immediate, but which can last for days as the skin where the hair was removed recovers.

Another disadvantage of regular visits to the salon is that they can really add up financially. As a result, many women have the over the counter methods available at drugstores instead.

There are two main types of at-home bikini area hair removal kits widely available today. With the first type of kit, you receive a jar of wax which you heat in your microwave, wooden applicators with which to apply the wax to your skin, and strips of specially-treated paper which you will then stick to the wax once it has been applied to your body. You then remove the strips, and, in theory, the wax and hair underneath them come off with them.

Another type of at-home wax kit includes strips of paper which already have wax applied to them. The disadvantage of this as well as of the other type of wax kit is that it is difficult to have the proper visuals needed in order to perform these techniques on oneself accurately.

This is made especially difficult by the fact that you can only use these products no more frequently than once per day, as waxing can severely irritate the skin, as the top layer of one's skin often comes off along with the wax and hair. Therefore, you must know many days in advance that you will be needing a smooth and soft bikini line, thus making short-notice events very difficult.
The other option for at-home bikini area hair removal is cream hair remover. Although less painful in the direct short-term, many women have adverse reactions to these creams, and it is possible to end up with painful itchy rashes or raised red bumps after the use of these treatments. These painful conditions can develop even twelve hours after initial contact with the product and can last for days.

Based on this analysis of currently-available techniques, it is no surprise that many women are turning to the permanent hair removal solution of laser hair removal in order to manage their bikini line hair removal issues. By undergoing this treatment, you can spare yourself having to routinely manage your bikini area for the rest of your life!
